The re:publica: A conference on social media

Table of contents

The re:publica is a conference on social media and digital society, firmly established since 2007. In 2020, however, Covid 19 forced the re:publica into digital exile: Within just 35 working days, a digital conference was conceived, produced and new formats and ideas for a virtual conference were developed.

1 platform. 4 channels. 4 deep dives. 1 TV studio.

A/the newsroom was established as the design motif. Lower thirds, openers and logo animations are reminiscent of Fox News. Four channels presented a continuous stream of thematically appropriate sessions.

As part of a partner agreement, CBE DIGIDEN developed the interface for the conference platform. The re-puplica.tv became an interface that adopted the news studio design, did justice to its offensive appearance with dynamic elements and bundled the streaming channels. Users were able to browse between the channels efficiently.

All interested users were involved in the digital video conference rooms. The program and additional information offered a contemporary interface that met the needs of re:publica and the users.
